Am I a Candidate?
Although operations have helped millions of people across the world achieve optimal vision, this procedure is not for everyone. Our experienced physicians perform a thorough pre-operative examination on each patient, evaluating the health of their eyes and many other factors in order to determine whether it is an appropriate procedure according to their individual vision needs.
If any of the following conditions apply, it may not be right for you:
- Your glasses or contact lens prescription has changed in the last year.
- You have a disease or are taking medications that may affect normal wound healing.
- You have an autoimmune disease or uncontrolled diabetes.
- You have a thin cornea.
- You are pregnant or nursing.
- You have a history of a herpes infection of the eyes.
- You suffer from chronic dry eyes.
- Your pupils dilate more than 7mm in the dark.
If our doctor determines you are not an ideal candidate, he will discuss viable alternatives with you. Our office is a comprehensive care center that provides a variety of surgeries that offer comparable improvements in visual acuity.
