Dr. Edmonds received an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia before earning a medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. Afterwards he completed an internship at Riverside Hospital, a pre-residency fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina, and residency at Tulane University. He returned to Virginia in 1995 and is one of the founders of Tidewater Eye Centers.
Dr. Edmonds became involved in community service at an early age. He grew up in a small town on the Eastern Shore where his father and grandfather served as the town’s only doctors. He often accompanied them in house calls to see patients who could not make it in to the office. Dr. Edmonds has continued that community involvement as an active member of multiple local church, civic, and medical boards. He has represented our area on the Virginia Society of Eye Surgeons and, for over 20 years, he provided free cataract surgery for local patients that do not have the means to pay for it. Dr. Edmonds also travels regularly to Africa and Honduras to provide free cataract surgery through 1-2 week medical missions.
Dr. Edmonds resides in Virginia Beach with his wife Bebe, who is a local dermatologist. They have three grown daughters. In their spare time, they enjoy boating, golfing, and biking.
